In Rune Factory Frontier you are given your very own home to live in. Your home is a center for sleeping, creating items, and storing materials and plays a large part in your game. In your home you have many customization options including upgrading your home with new rooms, choosing new types of furnitures, and creating unique room styles.

[edit] Original Home

In the beginning your main home is a small one room house. Located in the back left is a bed, where you can sleep to pass a days time, a toolbox, that holds up to 30 items but can be upgraded later on, a calendar, and a bookshelf that holds one book on how to plant your first Turnip. In the center is a small table with a small stack of mail on the bottom of it that you can read archived mail. In the upper center of the room is a shelf that will hold makers. Finally, in the upper right, bottom left, and bottom right are three small areas with a lower level then the rest of the room.

[edit] Adding New Rooms

To add new rooms to your home you must first go through a series of purchases.

[edit] Lute the Peddler

Lute is a traveling peddler who sells a variety of goods and tools. In order for you to upgrade your home and get new rooms you must first purchase the three starting room essentials. These are:

  • Handy Kitchen (800G)
  • Handy Forge (1000G)
  • Handy Laboratory (2000G)

These upgrades will add the basic tools to your home. Remember the three corners of your home (upper right, lower right, and lower left), that is where these basic tools will be put. The Handy Laboratory will be put in the upper right and will allow you to make basic medicine using two ingredients, the Handy Forge will be put in the lower right and will allow you to make basic weapons and tools with two ingredients and basic accesories with two ingredients, and the Handy Kitchen will be put in the lower left and will allow you to place two kitchen tools and allow you to make basic recipes with two ingredients. These three areas are not full rooms just yet, you must first upgrade them into rooms by talking to Kross.

[edit] Kross the Carpenter

Kross is a shady carpenter who lives on a small farm in Trampoli. Kross will give you the options of building brand new rooms for your homes so that you can later upgrade your tools to make better weapons, recipes, medicine, etc. These rooms will go off of there original spots in your home. These new rooms are:

  • Kitchen (requires 120 lumber and 10,000G)
  • Laboratory (requires 180 lumber and 15,000G)
  • Forge (requires 240 lumber and 20,000G)
  • Bedroom (requires 900 lumber and 75,000G)

Once you upgrade each of your areas and get a full room for each you can now start upgrading your tools or buying new tools.

[edit] Kitchen

The kitchen in your home is where you can make food for selling or using in battles. As you upgrade your kitchen you can purchase upgraded tools and also use more ingrdients at a time.

[edit] Styles

When upgrading your kitchen you will be allowed to choose from one of three styles each with their own unique inside and outside look. The following are the three kitchen styles:

  • Bulging: Semi-circular shape at equal level of the rest of the house. Outside it looks round and has a chimney.
  • Ba-Bump: Square shape with a set of stairs leading up to it. Outside it looks square and has a chimney.
  • Pointy: Split square with a set of stairs leading down to it. Outside it has a pointy roof with a chimney.

[edit] Handy Kitchen

The Handy Kitchen is the original kitchen that you can originally buy without needing its own room. The Handy Kitchen will give you the ability to make recipes with two ingredients in the actual kitchen part. The Handy Kitchen gives you the ability to use the following bonus tools:

  • Handy Frying Pan (400G and 2 ingredients)
  • Handy Pot (400G and 2 ingredients)

Also, once you purchase the actual Kitchen room you can get the following tools:

  • Handy Oven (400G and 2 ingredients)
  • Handy Blender (400G and 2 ingredients)
  • Handy Steamer (400G and 2 ingredients)

[edit] Great Kitchen

The Great Kitchen requires that you have the Kitchen room made before you can purchase and you must have the previous uppgrade, the Handy Kitchen. The Great Kitchen will also give you the ability to make recipes with four ingredients in the actual kitchen part. This upgrade costs 2,000G. The Great Kitchen gives you the ability to use the following bonus tools:

  • Great Frying Pan (1,000G and 4 ingredients)
  • Great Pot (1,000G and 4 ingredients)
  • Great Oven (1,000G and 4 ingredients)
  • Great Blender (1,000G and 4 ingredients)
  • Great Steamer (1,000G and 4 ingredients)

[edit] Chef's Kitchen

The Chef's Kitchen requires that you have the Kitchen room made before you can purchase and you must have the previous uppgrade, the Great Kitchen. The Chef's Kitchen will also give you the ability to make recipes with six ingredients in the actual kitchen part. This upgrade costs 8,000G. The Chef's Kitchen gives you the ability to use the following bonus tools:

  • Legendary Frying Pan (2,400G and 6 ingredients)
  • Super Pot (2,400G and 6 ingredients)
  • Royal Oven (2,400G and 6 ingredients)
  • Mystical Blender (2,400G and 6 ingredients)
  • Master Steamer (2,400G and 6 ingredients)

[edit] Other Kitchen Furniture

The Kitchen also is able to hold other furniture items for storage. Before being able to purchase these items you must first have the actual kitchen room. These items include:

  • Mini-Fridge (5,000G and holds 30 items)
  • Giant Fridge (5,000G and holds 60 items)

[edit] Laboratory

The Laboratory is an area where you can create medicines using herbs and other materials for use in battling or healing. As you upgrade your Laboratory you can use more ingredients at a time.

When upgrading your lab you will be allowed to choose from one of three styles each with their own unique inside and outside look. The following are the three lab styles:

  • Apothecary: Rectangle shaped with two upward steps. Outside it has a triangle like frame with a board in the center.
  • Alchemy: Circular shaped with steps leading upwards. Outside the room is pointed with one window.
  • Magic: Square shaped with stairs leading upwards to a circular platform. Outside it has a square roof and a few small windows.

[edit] Handy Laboratory

The Handy Laboratory is the original lab that you can originally buy without needing its own room. The Handy Laboratory will give you the ability to make medicines with two ingredients. Unlike the kitchen the Labortatory only has one tool and thats the main pot you get with every upgrade.

The Great Laboratory requires that you have the Lab room made before you can purchase and you must have the previous uppgrade, the Handy Laboratory. The Great Laboratory will also give you the ability to make medicines with four ingredients in the pot. This upgrade costs 2,500G.

[edit] Research Laboratory

The Research Laboratory requires that you have the Lab room made before you can purchase and you must have the previous uppgrade, the Great Laboratory. The Research Laboratory will also give you the ability to make medicines with six ingredients in the pot. This upgrade costs 14,000G.

The Lab also is able to hold other furniture items for storage. Before being able to purchase these items you must first have the actual lab room. These items include:

  • Lab Storage (10,000G and holds 30 items)

The Forge is an area that allows you to create weapons and tools for battling or chores, wands for magic, and using the crafting bench you can make accesories for armor or gifts.

When upgrading your forge you will be allowed to choose from one of three styles each with their own unique inside and outside look. The following are the three forge styles:

  • Cozy: Rectangle shaped with steps leading downwards. Outside it has a pointy roof with forging materials like wood.
  • Cool: Rectangle shaped and at equal level of the house. Outside it has a square shape and barrels.
  • Creepy: Circular shaped with stairs leading downward. Outside it has a circular shape and circular roof.

The Handy Forge is the original forge that you can originally buy without needing its own room. The Handy Forge will give you the ability to make weapons/wands/tools with two ingredients and accesories with two ingredients. Unlike the kitchen and lab the Forge only has two tools and thats the main forge and the crafting bench that both come with each upgrade.

The Great Forge requires that you have the Forge room made before you can purchase and you must have the previous uppgrade, the Handy Forge. The Great Forge will also give you the ability to make weapons/wands/tools with four ingredients in the forge, and accesories with four ingredients in the crafting bench. This upgrade costs 8000G.

The Maestro Forge requires that you have the Forge room made before you can purchase and you must have the previous uppgrade, the Great Forge. The Maestro Forge will also give you the ability to make weapons/wands/tools with six ingredients in the forge, and accesories with four ingredients in the crafting bench. This upgrade costs 28,000G.

The Lab also is able to hold other furniture items for storage. Before being able to purchase these items you must first have the actual lab room. These items include:

  • Forge Storage (10,000G and holds 30 items)

[edit] Bedroom

Unlike other rooms, the bedroom will go upstairs and only has one style. When the bedroom is made the outside of your home also expands. Inside, you'll see a sprial set of stairs leading to your room. Everything that was previously next to your bed will go upstairs except for the toolbox. Once you purchase the bedroom you will be able to purchase new paintings and furniture for the room.

The following is a list of items you can purchase for your bedroom. Remember that you can purchase all the paintings, but you can only hang one at a time. Also, the Full Sized Bed is required for marriage.

  • Full Sized Bed (20,000G and removes past bed)
  • Summer Ocean (5,000G)
  • House in a Forest Painting (5,000G)
  • Small Lake Painting (5,000G)
  • Autumn Forest Painting (5,000G)
  • Winter City Painting (5,000G)
  • Portrait Painting (5,000G)

The following are items you can only purchase once your wife is pregnant:

  • Children's Bed (20,000G)
  • Toy Box (5,000G)

[edit] Other Furniture

Other then furniture purchaseable for rooms, you can also buy furniture for your main home. These items usually replace other items in your home already.

[edit] Home Items

The following is a list of curtains available for purchase. Curtains will go on your windows. Remember that you can only purchase one set of curtains. Once you choose one you can not go back and choose another.

  • Relaxation Curtain (10,000G): Green and White.
  • Small Curtain (10,000G): Blue and White.
  • Elegant Curtain (10,000G): Purple and Gold.

The following are two other purchaseable items for your home that will replace their previous version:

  • Large Table (10,000G): Larger center table with blue and white table-cloth.
  • Large Box (10,000G): Larger toolbox that holds 60 items.

[edit] Makers

Makers are items that go on the shelf in the center-back area of the room. They use items gotten from Ranching.

  • Cheese Maker (1,000G)
  • Yarn Maker (2,000G)
  • Yogurt Maker (2,000G)
  • Seed Maker (5,000G)
