The axe can be used in any Harvest Moon game to chop sticks, stumps and in some occasions, trees. If you have a wood shed, when you chop the wood, it automatically goes to your shed and is stored as lumber. In some games, however, you will need to build the wood shed first, while others already have it ready for you by your house at the start of the game.

How to get the axe in different Harvest Moon games:

Rune Factory Frontier: Talk to Stella at the church until she asks how things are going on your farm. When you tell her that there's still a lot of sticks and stumps in your fields, she will give you the axe to take care of it.

Rune Factory 1: Talk to Bianca in her mansion after the 2nd of Spring. She'll give an old axe to you.

Rune Factory 2: When you complete the blacksmith Tanya's first quest (in the first generation) she will give you the axe as a reward.

Harvest Moon Island of Happiness: Available from the start of the game

Harvest Moon DS/Cute: Available from the start of the game

Harvest Moon Magical Melody: Available from the start of the game

Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility: Talk to Luke in the Praline Woods to get the axe

Harvest Moon Friends/More Friends of Mineral Town: Available from the start of the game
