Chickens
To buy a chicken you must make your way over to Poultry Farm and purchase one for 1500g. You will then get to name it. Once you have bought one it is a good idea to buy some food for it to, they are 10gp each.
You must feed each chicken once a day for it to be happy but if you can’t afford to feed it then let it run outside so it can feed on worms. – Take it in when it is raining though! When it is fully grown it will produce eggs. The quality will depend on how much it likes you. Regular egg is 0-3 Hearts, good egg is 4-7, excellent it 8-10, golden eggs is when it has 8 hearts and wins the chicken festival, P eggs in when it has 8 hearts, it has won the chicken festival and must of spent a total of 600 game hours outside and finally X eggs are very random and are only produced if they lay P eggs.
Chickens will die at an age older than 8. Keep that in mind!
Cows
Price: 5000G
Cows are the most expensive animals in the game. You can raise up to 8 cows and have 1 cow pregnant at a time. If you buy the barn upgrade then you can have up to 16 sheep and have 2 pregnant at a time. Babies cannot give milk but adults will give milk daily.
Happiness Your cow's love meter is displayed in the earnings page. To make it get higher don't let the cow get ill or upset. When they're upset they will have "..." above their head instead of a heart. When they're ill they will have a skull and crossbones above their head. If this happens you will have to buy medicine for 1000G. If your sheep get a little cranky just brush them and take extremely good care of them and they'll become happy again. If you leave them ill for too long they'll die and you'll see a cutscene at the cemetary.
Food On nice days you can keep your cows outside. They eat around 2-3 squares of grass a day so make sure you have enough. You can round up your sheep at the end of the day with the bell. Feeding them when they're not outside is easy. Just put some fodder in their feeding box.
Milk Your cow will give you milk every day. The more your cows like you, the better quality milk they'll produce. For S milk you need 0-3 hearts. For M milk you need 4-7 hearts. For L milk you need 8-10 hearts. For Gold Milk you'll need to win the Cow Festival. For P Milk you'll need to have won the Cow Festival AND the cow must have spent 600+ hours outside. You can get X Milk from a P Milk cow. After you have the barn upgrade you can buy a Cheese Maker for 20000G.
Cow Festival On Summer 20 is the Cow Festival. If your cow has a really full heart meter than you have a great chance of winning. After your cow wins it will begin to produce Golden or P milk.

Dog
You start off with your dog but he's only a puppy. To call your dog press 'L' and he should come to you. It's easy to increase his heart meter as well - just pick it up and put it back down again. Eventually the puppy will grow into an adult. You can do many more things with it then. You can even buy it a ball or frisbee from Won. Sometimes wild dogs will attack your farm! Don't worry, your dog will be there and chase them off. If your dog happens to be absent at the time however, you can attack the strays with your axe or sickle.
Games Like what was said before, you can buy the ball from Won. It costs 100G. Pick it up using the 'A' button and throw it for your dog. He should end up bringing it back to you. Another thing you can buy from Won is the frisbee. It costs 5000G. To play frizbee with your dog go to Mineral Beach on a nice day in Spring, Summer, or Fall. If it's between 8AM - 4PM you can play frisbee with your dog! There's a bar that determines how far you've thrown the frisbee. Try and get the arrows in the green bar. The more you practice, the bigger the green bar becomes. If your dog can catch it at over 30 feet then he'll dig you up items sometimes. After you play for a while the dog will get bored. You'll then have to wait until the next day to play again.
Frisbee Competition On Summer 1 you can enter your dog into the Frisbee Competition at Mineral Beach. You compete against other owners and dogs to see how far your dog can catch the frisbee. You get two throws, and the better throw is the one that counts. If you manage to defeat everyone else then you will win a Powerberry.
Horse
Sometime during the first Spring Barley will come to your house and give you a foal. Talk to the foal every day and brush him. Also make sure to bring him inside when the weather is bad! Sometime during late Fall or Winter your horse will become an adult. You can now ride him around the farm! You can't talk to him anymore but you can still brush him. You can also use your horse as a shipping bin, but he might eat the produce. During the second year Barley will return to see how the horse is doing. If your horse doesn't like you, Barley will take him away and bring you another horse later. If the horse likes you Barley will let you keep it.
Horse Race The horse race occurs during the Spring and Fall. You might not be able to race in the first year because your horse might still be a foal. When you're racing you'll see a green bubble with a heart in it. This turns red or orange depending on how much stamina you use. To make your horse go faster press 'A'. When you do this some stamina will go away. When your stamina goes to red it means that it's all gone and you can't go any faster. Use your stamina wisely! Prize for winning the race is a Powerberry.
Sheep
Price: 4000G
Sheep are the second most expensive animal in the game. You can buy them at Yodel Ranch. You can raise up to 8 sheep and have 1 sheep pregnant at a time. If you buy the barn upgrade then you can have up to 16 sheep and have 2 pregnant at a time. Babies cannot give wool but adults will give wool every 7 days after you shear them.
Happiness Your sheep's love meter is displayed in the earnings page. To make it get higher don't let the sheep get ill or upset. When they're upset they will have "..." above their head instead of a heart. When they're ill they will have a skull and crossbones above their head. If this happens you will have to buy medicine for 1000G. If your sheep get a little cranky just brush them and take extremely good care of them and they'll become happy again. Wool The more your sheep like you, the better quality wool they'll produce. Small wool is 0-3 hearts. Medium wool is 4-7 hearts. Large wool is 8-10 hearts. G wool is what you get when you win the Sheep Festival. P wool is what you can get if your sheep has one the Sheep Festival AND has spent 600+ hours outside. X wool is something you can get from a P wool sheep. After you get the barn upgrade you can get a yarn maker for 20000G. It is well worth the money!
On the 21 of Fall is the Sheep Festival. If you sheep wins it will produce G wool. Make sure that your sheep actually has its wool or else it can't participate!
