Rune Factory is a Harvest Moon game with fighting involved-something that has never been done in Harvest Moon's history.

Marriage (needs to be ported to the wiki!) There are eleven wives to choose from in Rune Factory: Bianca, Felicity, Lara, Lynette, Mei, Melody, Mist, Rosetta, Sharron, Tabatha, and Tori. However, you cannot marry Lynette until completing the main storyline. To get married you must complete a series of requirements: Ten Love Points, A House Upgrade, and the Big Bed. Along with those each girl has their own specific set of tasks you must complete to marry her. There is no Blue Feather in Rune Factory, but the extra tasks you must complete substitute for it. After marrying a girl, she will move into your house, where each morning she will give you a bit of breakfast. You can either eat the breakfast then or ship it for money. After being married for 150 days your wife will have a child. She will always carry it in her arms and sadly it will never grow older. There is no pregnancy scene at all.

Caves (needs to be ported to the wiki!)

To find the true intention of Sech's empire you must complete eight different caves. To unlock each one, complete the requirements and talk to Mayor Godwin. The mayor will then give you a certificate saying that you can access that cave. After destroying all monster generators, you can reach the boss. When you are first visiting Carmite. you will receive a monster detector from Rude. If you use the detector and you hear a sound, there is at least one more monster generator left. When you've finally destroyed all of the generators a boss door will open. Every time you reenter the cave the machines will regenerate, but the boss door will not open. Remember that time passes normally when inside a cave.

Monsters (needs to be ported to the wiki!) Monsters come in a variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and abilities. As you battle your way through the caves you will meet many of these. Though at first the creatures will be purely enemies, you do have the choice to instead befriend some that may help you work on your farm! To do so, you need a Friendship Glove from Tabatha. She'll give you one after you build your first Monster Hut from Camus (for 1000G and 100 wood). To befriend an animal, equip the glove and continually use it next to a monster. Remember, they can still attack you at this time so you should probably have a decent amount of health. You can also try dodging the attacks while continuing to use the glove. Once you befriend an animal, the naming screen will appear, and after that your new "pet" will be in the hut on your farm. You'll also need to feed your monster Fodder to keep it happy. You can either grow it by buying seeds or buy it from Neumann.

Farming (needs to be ported to the wiki!) When Farming, you must always remember to Till the Soil first to plant your seeds. After this, you can then grow your crops. Town (needs to be ported to the wiki!) The town of Kardia Village is located directly north from the farm Mist give to you. Take the path east of your house and it will lead you there. Many villagers will be inside throughout the day but on weekends they will come out of their houses and shops.
